Gradient Methods is led by a hands-on technologist with deep roots in cloud architecture, distributed systems, and applied AI.
Joshua is the founder and principal of Gradient Methods. He focuses on the design, architecture, and development of software and applied AI at scale. With over 15 years of experience solving unique problems across early-stage startups, large enterprises, and federal agencies, he brings a broad range of perspective to every engagement.
He has worked with a large variety of cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises production services. Always learning, always driven by the challenge of designing solutions for extremely rapidly scaling companies. He is known for finding organization-wide pain points and building sustainable mechanisms and teams to solve them.
Technically, Joshua specializes in building generative AI systems, serverless and event-driven cloud workflows, and solving hard distributed systems problems (increased resiliency, reduced latency, and more), primarily for high-scale FinTech, financial services, and crypto customers. Throughout his career, he has been recognized as a leader and public speaker in these areas. He holds both a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and writes production code daily.
